JOB SUMMARY:
The Project Engineer serves as a key member of the project team, providing administrative, technical, and operational support throughout the lifecycle of a construction project. This position works closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, the Carpentry and HVAC Departments, Preconstruction, Controls, Accounting, Property Management, and Design teams to help ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with Oxford Construction standards.

JOB DUTIES:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  1. Establish and maintain project files, drawings, specifications, permits, contracts, and correspondence within Procore and other company systems.
  2. Create and distribute project correspondence, including meeting agendas, minutes, action item logs, and punch lists.
  3. Maintain project logs including RFIs, submittals, permits, procurement status, and punch lists.
  4. Track project milestones, permit status, procurement of long-lead materials and equipment, and critical deadlines.
  5. Assist in soliciting subcontractor and supplier bids and coordinate distribution of bid documents and project information.
  6. Maintain subcontractor and vendor databases, including insurance and compliance documentation.
  7. Support bid comparisons, scope reviews, and bid administration activities.
  8. Apply for permits as requested/required.
  9. Coordinate kick-off and progress meetings with clients and key stakeholders.
  10. Coordinate with the Controls Coordinator to support financial tracking, monthly billing, vendor compliance, and departmental reporting requirements.
  11. Support monthly billing preparation, including backup documentation and pay application support.
  12. Maintain KPI and scorecard data for assigned projects to support the Oxford IQ dashboard and Monthly Operations reviews.
  13. Conduct periodic jobsite visits to document project progress and support jobsite safety documentation, including daily logs and toolbox talk records.
  14. Support Superintendent planning efforts, including look-ahead schedules, consistent with Oxford field leadership standards.
  15. Support Project Managers in various tasks, including:
    1. Coordinating subcontractors and vendors.
    2. Developing and monitoring project schedules.
    3. Reviewing vendor bids and billing invoices for accuracy.
    4. Contract administration and project documentation.
  16. Participate in Level 10 meetings, one-on-ones, and quarterly planning; own and complete assigned To-Dos and action items on schedule.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred) plus 2-3 years of experience working in construction administration or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Strong time management, organization, and project management skills.
  3. Ability to proficiently use various Microsoft Office applications. Experience with Procore, Yardi, and Microsoft Project is a plus.
  4. Demonstrated ability to successfully work in a fast-paced environment; ability to multitask is essential.
  5. Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance coverage; ability to provide own transportation.
  6. Perform all job duties with a positive attitude, embodying Oxford’s CREW values.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS:
Employee will be regularly required to sit, use hands to handle or feel, and talk or hear. Employee will be frequently required to reach with hands or arms. Employee is occasionally required to sit or stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Work is performed in both normal office conditions and on active construction jobsites, where appropriate personal protective equipment is required. Noise level in the office environment is usually moderate.
